Tools for Cooks

Published by Jacqui Small in 2007, this is a fantastic resource book for cooks and kitchen enthusiasts.  At 300+ pages is a thorough and extensive tome and offers the reader an excellent shopping list if nothing else.

I was given this book for Christmas when it was released and it has been well thumbed since.  In terms of researching particular types of equipment it is extremely useful – there are sections on Meat Grinders, Mortar and Pestles (my personal addiction), Mixers and Processors as well as excellent information on knives and how to care for them.

Included between the text on equipment is a range of lovely recipes contributed by Bill Granger, Madhur Jaffrey, Jamie Oliver and Michel Roux to name but a few.
