By Meredith Kirton

I have indeed been blessed with a treasure-trove of tomes this Christmas!

First published in 2009 (see I do read some modern books!) Harvest – A complete guide to the edible garden is a magnificently illustrated book from the author of dig and plot.  This book is dedicated to the less experienced gardener looking to create a truly productive edible garden.  Of particular use is the comprehensive lists of fruits, vegetables and 'seasonal jobs' to help keep your garden on target for a prolific, high-yielding year.

The wonderful photographs are an inspiration and cover a broad range of produce – far beyond the peas, beans and tomatoes many kitchen-garden guides offer.  Highly recommended if you are contemplating a new garden for 2012, Kirton writes so lovingly of her garden and provides excellent advice for every aspect of the edible garden.
