Domestic Cookery Made Easy

by Hannah Glasse

Published in 1747 this is one of the books I would dearly love an original copy of but which I now refer to in facsimile only.  Her writing, as with Eliza Acton, Isabella Beeton and even Elizabeth David, gave women a hitherto unheard voice and injected a revolutionary notion of choice into the diet and kitchens of the age.  These works should be celebrated and referenced often.
